Konica Minolta - 4/10/2013
Konica Minolta Launches bizhub C364e/C284e/C224e Series
Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc. (Konica Minolta) today announces the launch of the bizhub® C364e/C284e/C224e
Series of Color Multifunctional Products (MFP - print, copy, scan and fax all in one system). Adopting Konica Minolta’s award-winning
INFO-Palette design for multi-touch functionality, these latest MFPs are considered enhanced versions of their predecessors
(bizhub C364/C284/C224) and include a variety of new features to increase productivity, overall versatility and energy savings.
With a range of print/copy speeds of 36 ppm, 28 ppm and 22 ppm (bizhub C364e, bizhub C284e, bizhub C224e respectively), Konica
Minolta’s newest bizhub models are ideal for small- to medium-sized business environments and offer productivity to match user workflow.
This series incorporates the latest evolution of the INFO-Palette design with enhancements including: improved swiping; drag and drop;
tap and toggle; pinch in and pinch out; as well as image rotation operations. The control panel also offers direct access to downloadable
apps from the Konica Minolta bizhub MarketPlace. In addition, security has been expanded on these new models, making them the first
bizhub MFPs to comply with the IEEE 2600.1 international standard for MFP and printer information security. Furthermore, the
bizhub C364e/C284e/C224e series offers Konica Minolta’s exclusive Emperon® print system for built-in print control and the
next-generation Simitri® HD toner formulation for sharp, clear images.
To reduce energy consumption, the series also incorporates a wake-up function, which enables automatic answering for network
communication. The result is a larger power shutdown area that reduces power consumption in sleep mode so that electricity is only
provided to the area needed to wake up the device. This new platform consumes less than 1.0-wattts during sleep mode and also
improves TEC values.
“In today’s competitive business world, MFPs are now considered part of an overall solution that provides added value company-wide, in
terms of improved business efficiency and optimization,” says Kevin Kern, senior vice president, Marketing, Konica Minolta Business
Solutions U.S.A., Inc. “As an enhanced series of MFPs, the bizhub C364e, bizhub C284e and bizhub C224e exemplify how customers
can count on Konica Minolta for solutions that allow them to manage information faster and more efficiently with less impact to the
environment.”

Konica Minolta Unveils New Color AIOs to Cater to the Increased
Printing Workflow Needs of Small- and Mid-Sized Offices
Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc. ( Konica Minolta ), a leading provider of advanced imaging and
networking technologies from the desktop to the print shop, today announced the introduction of the bizhub
C10 and bizhub C10X color laser All-in-Ones (AIOs) that cater to the increased printing and workflow needs of
today’s small and mid-sized offices. The two bizhub™ AIOs , which outshines the competition in several categories,
are ideal solutions for those looking to upgrade from single-function devices, monochrome laser printers and color
inkjet AIOs.
In today’s complex business environment, companies of all sizes are now demanding efficient workflow and
networked printing solutions to maintain a competitive edge. The bizhub C10/C10X series helps small- and
medium-sized businesses compete by combining several essential office functions into a single machine that
saves time, space, and money. The bizhub C10/C10X Series also features many of the same extensive printing,
copying, and scanning features found on higher-end Konica Minolta bizhub multifunctional products (MFPs – print,
copy, fax, and scan all in one system) that are geared toward larger organizations.
“The bizhub C10/C10X Series outclasses the competition on several fronts, boasting faster color print speeds,
faster first-page-out and more maximum paper capacity when compared to similar product offerings,” said
Kevin P. Kern, vice president, product planning and marketing, Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc.
“These new color AIOs prove just how easy and cost-effective it is for companies to upgrade to higher-quality
color machines – and still have a low cost of ownership.”
The new AIOs target Segment 1a, with the bizhub C10 and bizhub C10X both offering 20 pages per minute
monochrome and five pages per minute in color, as well as improved productivity across the board due to better
duplex copy, scan speed and warm-up time features. Both newly unveiled networked AIOs provide a centralized
“hub” that allows organizations to improve workflow efficiency and document management with a comprehensive
and cost-effective color solution. The bizhub C10/C10X Series also offers increased memory, Windows Vista™
support, and a low-noise engine so as to not disrupt smaller and quieter office settings.
bizhub C10/C10X Series Innovations and Advancements
Dependable, High-Speed Laser Performance
The bizhub C10/C10X Series features speedy first-page-out times of 13 seconds or less for black & white and
22 seconds or less for color prints. Multiple copies are delivered at 20 black & white or 5 full color pages per minute,
regardless of the print quality chosen. Documents and photographs can be scanned in less than 4 seconds per
black & white page and 10 seconds per 24-bit color page.
Outstanding Prints, Copies, Scans, Photos, and Faxes
Based on the award-winning Konica Minolta magicolor® 2400 Series, the bizhub C10/C10X Series makes it easy
to produce professional laser-quality color prints, copies, scans, fax documents, and photos.
Print Quality
The bizhub C10/C10X Series delivers outstanding print quality for any type of document. The following print
resolutions are available: 2400 x 600, dpi 1200 x 600 dpi, and 600 x 600 dpi. Printing at 2400 dpi resolution
produces crisp text, rich blacks, vibrant colors, realistic photographs, detailed textures, and smooth shading.
Copy Quality
The following copy quality settings are available: Photo, Text, Mix/Normal, Fine. Copy quality can be enhanced
by specifying the type of document (text, photo, mixed) being copied as well as by adjusting brightness and
density. Copies can be resized easily by using the 50–200% zoom function. All features are available through
one-touch keys on the control panel.
Scan Quality
Using the optional PageScope Workware software, documents and photos can be scanned directly to PDF,
JPEG, or TIFF; annotated, edited, or converted to editable text with the Optical Character Recognition feature.
PC Fax Quality
The FaxTalk Communicator software bundled with the bizhub C10/C10X Series provides digital PC Fax send
and receive functionality and allows you to annotate faxes before sending or printing. Two fax resolutions are
available: Fine (200 x 200 dpi) and Standard (200 x 100 dpi)
Simitri Color Polymerized Toner
Konica Minolta Simitri™ Color Polymerized Toner, composed of uniformly sized toner particles, produces beautiful
colors, clear text even in small sizes, and smooth halftones-regardless of the print quality or media type selected.
Color remains consistent from print to print because each batch of Simitri Color Polymerized Toner is tested for
optimal color quality. Simitri Color Polymerized Toner also features improved fusing, so output is more durable
and never smears or fades like inkjet prints. Plus, Simitri Color Polymerized Toner has a life expectancy of over
100 years for output that lasts for generations.
Multipass Color Laser Technology
The bizhub C10/C10X Series features Konica Minolta multipass color laser technology with improved printing
precision. New optical technology on the print head allows for a wider angle, which greatly reduces the
distance between the print head and the media. Decreasing this distance reduces the overall size of the unit,
making it more compact.
Camera Direct Photo Printing
The Camera Direct Photo Print function allows digital images to be printed directly from a PictBridge enabled
digital camera-no PC or special software required. Photos can be printed on any supported media up to 8.5” x 11”.
Borderless 4” x 6” prints are also available.
Exceptional Media Handling
The bizhub C10/C10X Series supports a wide variety of standard and custom media sizes (from 3.6" x 5.8" to
8.5" x 14"), as well as all common types of office media, including plain paper, thick stock, glossy stock,
transparencies, labels (mailing, CD-ROM, etc.), and envelopes.
Pricing and Availability
The bizhub C10/C10X Series is available now through Konica Minolta’s North American direct sales, authorized
dealer and value-added reseller channels. The manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) for the bizhub C10
is $1,174; and the bizhub C10X is $1,871.

Konica Minolta bizhub MFPs Recognized as "Most Reliable" by Office
Products Analyst
Ramsey, NJ and Rochester, NY - July 3, 2007 - Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc. (Konica Minolta)
today announced that its bizhubTM and bizhub PROTM digital color multifunctional products (MFPs - print, copy,
fax, and scan all in one system) garnered the top awards for reliability in three key product segments - Color Light
Production, Graphics Color, and Office Color - in the recent annual Print for Pay customer study conducted by
Office Products Analyst, the longest running, continuously published publication that focuses exclusively on the
office automation industry.
The awards are further validation that Konica Minolta bizhub MFPs continue to set the agenda across the MFP
industry. Konica Minolta, which in March introduced its next-generation bizhub line headlined by the C550 MFP
to great fanfare, beat out several rivals to earn the accolades. The study findings are the results of an
independent intense survey of more than 200 end users.
"Each year, we conduct a study in which we ask commercial printers across the United States to rate the
imaging equipment they use on a daily basis," said Andy Slawetsky, president, Industry Analysts, Inc., publisher
of Office Products Analyst. "Over the years, we’ve found these to be some of the most demanding customers
when it comes to rating equipment they use on a daily basis. Surveys were completed via extensive telephone
interviews with hundreds of customers. After a thorough validation process, we were left with 207 commercial
printers and 20 publishing houses in our sample."
This year, Konica Minolta scored as most reliable in the following categories:
Color Light Production, where Print for Pay customers also gave Konica Minolta highest marks in other critical
categories such as Image Quality and Features.
Graphics Color, where Print for Pay customers also gave Konica Minolta the highest marks in another key
category, Best Color Matching, critical to graphic arts customers.
Office Color, where Print for Pay customers also gave Konica Minolta the highest marks in another key
category, Best Color Matching.
"Production printing, both high-speed color and monochrome, is an area of strategic emphasis for Konica Minolta,"
said Bill Brewster, vice president, marketing, Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc. "To have captured
the top spot in three important print for pay and commercial printing segments is an achievement of which we are
justifiably proud. Konica Minolta believes reliability to be critical to success in a market where our devices are
revenue generators, and must perform when called upon to meet customer demands for excellent color at an
affordable price delivered in a timely manner. These awards give clear evidence as to why our market share in
production printing has enjoyed significant growth in recent years."
"Konica Minolta devices beat out rivals from Canon, HP and Xerox," said Slawetsky. "Based on feedback from
customers, anyone in the market for reliable color light production printing devices should strongly consider one
from Konica Minolta."
